bursary scheme
The Inspire Capital Sports Bursary Programme exists to support talented young athletes whose progression is limited by financial, social, or geographic barriers.

The programme is designed to ensure that access to elite sport is determined by talent and commitment, not circumstance. Through targeted funding, mentorship, and professional guidance, the bursary helps athletes focus on performance while building foundations for long-term success.
Our Impact
1 Equality, Access & Opportunity
The first pillar of the Bursary Programme focuses on removing barriers to elite sport.

Many talented athletes face obstacles such as training costs, travel expenses, limited access to facilities, or a lack of local opportunity. The bursary provides direct support to help overcome these challenges, opening clear pathways for progression regardless of background.

Our approach prioritises inclusion and fairness, ensuring athletes from all communities have the opportunity to pursue their potential on an equal footing.

2 Elite Athlete Support
The Elite Athlete Support pillar addresses the practical and financial demands of high-performance sport.

The bursary contributes towards:
-
Training and coaching costs
-
Travel and competition fees
-
Equipment and performance-related expenses

Alongside financial support, athletes receive structured guidance to help manage the pressures of elite competition and make informed decisions throughout their sporting journey.

A key example of this work is our partnership with MACC Cricket Academy, where the Bursary Programme funds 10 elite athlete bursaries, enabling young cricketers to access professional coaching and compete at higher levels without financial limitation.

3 Developing Future Role Models
The third pillar focuses on the holistic development of bursary recipients.

Athletes are supported not only as competitors, but as individuals preparing for long-term careers within and beyond sport. Through mentoring and tailored advisory support, the programme helps athletes develop:
-
Confidence and leadership skills
-
An understanding of the professional and commercial aspects of sport
-
The tools to plan for life beyond competition

By equipping athletes with knowledge, perspective, and transferable skills, the Bursary Programme aims to develop well-rounded role models who can positively influence others within their sporting communities.
